Coronavirus kills over 145,000, infects nearly 100,000 in 24 hrs globally

With Coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, the death toll from the novel virus has climbed to 145, 443 after 6,969 people died in the last 24 hours as of Friday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 94, 409 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 2, 180,741.

Currently, 1,488,284 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world, of which 56, 602 are critical.

Meanwhile, 547,014 have returned home after treatment.

The United States of America (USA), the worst-hit in terms of deaths and infection cases, has witnessed 34, 580 deaths after 2,137 died in the last 24 hours.

With 29, 053 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 677,056.

Currently, 566, 205 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which the condition of 13, 369 is critical.  Meanwhile, 57,271 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 16, 106 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 3,518 and 2, 093 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 525 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the number of death toll to 22,170 as of Friday morning.

With 3,786 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 168, 941, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America. This is an increase by 1,119 in the number of single day cases. New cases were 2667 yesterday.

Currently, 106, 607 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 2,936 are critical. Meanwhile, 40,164 have recovered after treatment.

Spain has the second highest number of infection cases with 184, 948 after the United States of America (USA). According to Worldometer, 4,289 people were infected and 503 died in a single day. This is an increase by 705 in the number of infection cases in a single day.

A total of 19, 315 people have died due to the novel virus as of Friday morning.

Currently, 90,836 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 7, 371 are critical. Meanwhile, 74, 797 have returned home after recovery.

The United Kingdom (UK) has reported 861 new deaths taking total death toll to 13,729 as of Friday morning. This is an increase by 100 in the number of single day deaths. The number of single day deaths was 761 yesterday.

With 4, 617 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 103,093 according to Worldometer. This is an increase by 14 in the number of single day infection cases. It was 4, 603 yesterday.

Currently, 89, 020 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 1, 559 are critical.

France has registered 17, 920 deaths after 753 died in a single day. This is less by 685 than the number of deaths compared to yesterday. It was 1,438 yesterday.

According to the latest figures collated by Woldometer, 17,164 new cases were reported taking the total number of infection cases to 165, 027 as Friday morning.  This is an increase by 12, 604 in the number of single day infection cases. It was 4, 560 yesterday.

Currently, 114,295 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 6, 248 are critical. Meanwhile, 32,812 have returned home after recovery.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 134,375 and infecting 2,077,839 people as of Thursday morning.
