Covid-19 death toll crosses 154,000 globally with over 2.2 mln infected

With Coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, the death toll from the novel virus has climbed to 154, 126 after 8,653 people died in the last 24 hours as of Saturday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 85, 670 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 2, 248,037.

Currently, 1,533,119 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world, of which 56, 967 are critical.

Meanwhile, 570,792 have returned home after treatment.

The United States of America (USA), the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has witnessed 2, 516 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to  37, 135 as of Saturday morning.

With 31, 631 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 709, 201 according to  Worldometer.

Currently, 612,069 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which the condition of 13, 509 is critical.  Meanwhile, 59,997 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 17, 131 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 3,840 and 2, 227 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a public health emergency on January 31 in the US.

Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 575 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 22,745 as of Saturday morning.

With 3,493 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 172, 434, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America.

Currently, 106, 962 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 2,812 are critical. Meanwhile, 42,727 have recovered after treatment.

Spain has the second highest number of infection cases with 190, 839 after the United States of America (USA).

According to reports, 5,891 people were infected and 687 died in a single day. Currently, 96, 040 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 7, 371 are critical.

Meanwhile, 74, 797 have recovered after treatment.

A total of 20,002 people have died due to the novel virus as of Saturday morning.

The United Kingdom (UK) has reported 847 new deaths taking total tally to 14,576 as of Saturday morning.

With 5,599 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 108,692 according to Worldometer.

Currently, 93, 772 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 1, 559 are critical.

France has registered 18, 681 deaths after 761 died in a single day.

According to the latest figures collated by Woldometer, 1,909 new cases were reported taking the total number of infection cases to 147, 969 as Friday morning.

Currently, 94, 868 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 6, 027 are critical. Meanwhile, 34,420 have returned home after recovery.

Likewise, the death toll from Coronavirus in China has reached 4, 632 after 1,290 died in a single day.

With 320 new cases, the number of cases has reached 82, 692, according to Worldometer.

Currently, 116 Coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Wuhan City, of which, 89 are critical. According to reports, 77, 944 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 154,126 and infecting 2,248,037 people as of Saturday morning.
