Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday stated that 468 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that the new cases have taken the national count to 26,019.
According to Dr Gautam, eight people from Chitwan tested positive at Bharatpur Hospital and 11 people from Banke and 12 people from Bardiya at the Nepalgunj-based Bheri Hospital.
Similarly, 10 people from Kathmandu and one person from Lalitpur at BIDH Lab, tests at Bir Hospital have confirmed the infection in one person from Bhaktapur, one from Dhanusha, three from Kathmandu and two from Kavre and one each from Lalitpur and Ramechhap were diagnosed positive at B&B Hospital.
In tests conducted at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, one from Dhanusha, two from Morang, two from Saptari, four from Siraha, 16 from Sunsari and one from Tehrathum were found infected and tests at Dadeldhura Hospital confirmed the infection in one person from Bajhang and one person from Dadeldhura.
Likewise, tests conducted at Dhulikhel Hospital have confirmed the coronavirus in one person from Chitwan, five from Dolakha, seven from Kavre and one from Ramechhap and 25 people from Morang, one from Siraha and one from Udayapur were diagnosed positive at Koshi Hospital.
Tests conducted at Lumbini Provincial Hospital have confirmed the infection in one person of Kapilvastu and one person of Nawalparasi East, one person from Bara and 21 from Parsa at Narayani Hospital, eight people from Bhaktapur and four people from Kathmandu at Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital and tests at the Nepal Police Hospital confirmed the infection in 24 people from Kathmandu.
Likewise, tests conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu have confirmed the infection in 24 people from Kathmandu, six from Khotang, three from Parsa, one from Rasuwa and 40 from Sarlahi.
Similarly, tests at Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences found eight people from Kaski to have contracted the coronavirus and tests conducted at Surkhet Provincial Hospital have found the coronavirus in one person from Dailekh and four people from Surkhet.
Report of 38 people from Morang and three from Sunsari came positive at Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Biratnagar and tests conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Rupandehi have confirmed the coronavirus in one person from Gulmi, 31 from Kapilvastu and two from Rupandehi.
Similarly, tests at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Janakpur have confirmed 25 people from Dhanusha, nine from Mahottari and three from Sarlahi to have the coronavirus.
Tests at the Provincial Tuberculosis Center in Pokhara have confirmed the infection in two people from Baglung, one from Gorkha, three from Kaski, one from Nawalparasi East, one from Syangja and two from Tanahun.
Similarly, in a test conducted at Rapti Health Science Academy, 10 people from Dang, in tests at Birendra Hospital, two people from Bardiya, three people from Kathmandu and one person from Ramechhap and the infection has been confirmed in two persons from Kathmandu at Surya Health Care Laboratory, Lazimpat.
One person from Dang, 10 from Kathmandu and seven from Lalitpur were found positive to Star Hospital, tests conducted at the Vector-Borne Disease Research and Training Center in Hetauda have confirmed the coronavirus in one person from Bara, 21 from Makwanpur, four from Rautahat, 11 from Sarlahi and one from Udayapur.
A similar test conducted at the Health Office in Dailekh confirmed the coronavirus in two people from Dailekh and one from Surkhet.
A total of 11,047 samples were tested through the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method, he shared.
Meanwhile, as many as 17,201 have recovered across the country so far after 124 discharged from hospitals and isolation centers in the last 24 hours, he shared.
At present, 8,193 people are in isolation and 14,448 are in various quarantine facilities.
Nepal has reported three new deaths. With this, the death toll has reached 102, he said.
