Nepal has confirmed 250 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the addition of the cases, total cases in Nepal have reached 4,614.
Speaking at a regular press briefing on Thursday, Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that among the newly-infected are 230 male and 20 female.
According to spokesperson Dr. Gautam, three men from Sunsari have been infected with coronavirus at tests carried out at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Biratnagar.
Similarly, three men from Rautahat were confirmed to be infected in tests at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital, Birgunj and seven from Bara and seven from Dhading have been confirmed infected after their sample were tested in Hetauda.
Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in two men from Sarlahi at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Janakpur, nine men from Saptari in the laboratory of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, two men from Sarlahi, 15 men from Rautahat and four men from Mahottari at in the Provincial Public Health Laboratory Janakpur.
Likewise, a laboratory test at Koshi Hospital has confirmed infection in three men from Jhapa.
Similarly, a test conducted at the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences Dang has confirmed infection in eight people of Dang. Among them are 2 women and 5 men.
A total of 14 people from Rolpa and 13 people from Banke have been infected in the laboratory tests of Bheri Hospital. Similarly, tests conducted at the laboratory of Surkhet Hospital have confirmed the infection in 48 people of Dailekh and seven people of Surkhet.
Similarly, one man from Kapilvastu, four from Pyuthan and 29 from Rupandehi have been tested positive at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Rupandehi.
Seven people from Kailali, 18 from Bajura and two from Bajhang have been confirmed infected in tests at the laboratory of Seti Provincial Hospital.
Similarly, six men from Nawalparasi West tested positive at the laboratory of Dhulikhel Hospital and one man from Kapilvastu and 39 men from Rautahat at the National Public Health Laboratory.
In the last 24 hours, 5,194 samples have been tested through PCR, said Spokesperson Dr. Gautam.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 294,073 samples have been tested for coronavirus in Nepal so far. Of these, 115,930 samples were tested through the PCR and 178,143 through the RDT.
Meanwhile, 187 COVID-19 patients, including 8 females and 179 males have been discharged from hospitals after recovery.
At present, 3,738 people are in isolation and 162,013 are in quarantines across the country.
A total of 861 people have been discharged after recovery and 15 have died so far.
