Chairman of Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has spoken of the need of developing Chitwan into a medical city. In his address to a seminar on ‘health development of overall Chitwan’ organised by district-based health professionals/workers here today, leader Dahal, also the House of Representatives member from Chitwan constituency-3, said health infrastructure development going on at a growing pace in the district predicted the possibility of developing it into a medical city. He gave his words for extending support from his personal level for the further development of district’s health sector.
He was of the view that a master plan of the Bharatpur Metropolitan City should be become a model of the entire nation.
Nepal Health Research Council’s vice chair Dr Bhojraj Adhikari said the district should prove its prosperity in the health sector as well, underlining the need of forming a board to carry out health development programmes in the district through a one-door system. District Public Health Office, Chitwan’s chief Bijay Kumar Jha, Bharatpur Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Rabin Khadka and BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital’s executive director Dr Bijay Chandra Acharya put their views at the programme.
