Tulsipur, Dang, April 27
Fifteen malaria patients have been found in the past nine months in Dang, the District Public Health Office (DPHO), Dang confirmed.
As stated by the DPHO, this number was 34 in the last fiscal year. Though the number of malaria patients is likely to go down in the district this year, the district that lies in Province 5 is still vulnerable to the infectious disease.
He asserted that combined efforts among all authorities concerned, civil society and locals were essential to eliminate the problem.
The dream of making the country free from malaria, a life-threatening disease, by 2025 AD is possible only support from all quarters of life, he added.
According to the World Health Organisation’s data, there were an estimated 216 million of cases of malaria in 91 countries in 2016, an increase of five million cases over 2015 and malaria deaths reached 445,000 in 2016.
