Double gold medalist Mandekaji Shrestha has been honoured by the Madhyapur Thimi municipality. Shrestha who is the resident of ward no. 4 of the municipality was honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 555,555 and a letter of citation.
Shrestha had won two gold medals in the recently concluded 13th South Asian Games. He won the medal in Karate including in men’s individual Kata Category. He was also paraded around the municipality for making the city proud in the regional sports event. Shrestha’s coach and parents were also honoured at the programme held on Saturday.
