Festivals will promote art, culture and business: Home Minister Thapa

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ has said several festivals being organised in Lalitpur would contribute greatly to further promote art, culture and business in the district. During the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Jhamsikhel Mahotsav’ organised by the Jhamsikhel Youth Club on Saturday.

Home Minister Thapa said developed countries organised several kinds of festival time and again for the industrial and business promotion. He said he was hopeful that this type of festival would help encourage the tourist arrival during the Visit Nepal Year 2019.

The Minister went on to say that he was very happy to know the message of the festival which is to make Jhamsikhel free from the use of plastic. He wished that the area would see peace and prosperity. Also speaking on the occasion, House of Representatives (HoR) member Pampha Bhusal shared that several programes were on the pipeline to develop the Lalitpur metropolis-3 into the touristic site.

State Assembly member Jeevan Khadka assured that the state government would promote the home stay business in the district. Nepal Army’s Chief Purna Chandra Thapa vowed to support the Visit Nepal Year through the means of sports tourism in the district while Chief District Officer Bhagirath Pandey expressed his hope the festival would familiarize foreign tourists about several aspects of Lalitpur.

According to club chair Sandan Thapa, the objective of the festival is to promote locally available resources. The festival is organised in every four years. It has showcased stalls relating to art, culture, handicrafts and other stuffs. –
