The government was suggested for talks with agitating Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ by taking the opposition into confidence.
Speaking in a special hour of the National Assembly session today, lawmaker Radheshym Adhikari drew the government attention to the matter.
As he said, Chand had his involvement in the 12-point peace agreement which ended the decade-long armed conflict in which the country had suffered. It may be noted that pact had formally brought the then rebelling CPN (Maoist) into the mainstream politics. He was of the view of seeking the solution to the issue politically to ensure peace and security at home.
Chakra Prasad Snehi, said the House should be informed about how many times the talks team formed by the government under the convenorship of Som Prasad Pandey called the Chand faction to talks. He added there was no alternative to talks to seek a way out to the problem.
Khemraj Nepali and Haricharan Shivakoti asserted that it was the major responsibility of the government to bring the independent Madhesh alliance to the mainstream of politics.
Dil Kumari Rawal said the incidents of fire were repeating with the beginning of weather change, causing big loss of life and property so the every municipality should have the facility of firefighters to mitigate the loss and for the relief of affected.
Brisheschandra Lal demanded the government immediately unveil the report of the commission formed under the convenorship of Supreme Court’s former judge Girishchandra Lal.
Komal Oli drew the government attention towards the delivery of health services at a slow pace at the Rapti State Hospital. There are only three or four doctors to treat around 300- 400 patients on a daily basis in the hospital. She more utilized the time to urge the Ministry of Health and Population for the repair of hospital building.
Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi sought the government intervention in the misuse of state property. “Some teachers are enjoying the double benefits.”
