The government has said it will investigate alleged corruption into the procurement of vaccines and health equipment during the KP Oli-led government’s tenure.
While announcing the common minimum program (CMP) of the coalition government at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar Sunday, coalition-formed task force Coordinator Purna Bahadur Khadka, who is also the General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), said the government would carry out investigation into suspected financial irregularites that took place during the pandemic period when Oli was in office.
The government, meanwhile, also aimed to vaccinate one-third of the population against the coronavirus by mid-October.
The CMP also stated the government prioritized taking initiative to resolve the issue of Kalapani and Lipulek through diplomatic channels, and reviewing treaties and agreements against national interest.
