Leader of Nepal Communist Party and former Finance Minister Surendra Pandey has said the incumbent government had made headway to socialism.
At a programme organised on the occasion of 103rd International Workers Day here on Wednesday, leader Pandey said all the problems of workers would be resolved as the government was embracing socialism. Saying the government would increase allowance of senior citizens from the coming fiscal year, he mentioned that health insurance scheme would be made more effective.
Free education to children, allowances to senior citizens and free treatment to sick people were the schemes relating to socialism, according to him.
On the occasion, NCP central committee member Kashinath Adhikari, NCP Chitwan Chairperson Yam Bahadur Pariyar, General-Secretary of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) Gita Karki, among others expressed their views.
