Govt’s policies and programmes have addressed people’s aspirations: CPN Chair Dahal

Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and former Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said that the policies and programmes that the government has presented had addressed the people’s desire and aspirations to the maximum.

NCP and former PM said so while speaking during the discussions on the government’s policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2020/2021 that President Bidya Devi Bhandari presented in the joint session of both the houses of the Federal Parliament on May 3.

Chair Prachanda thanked the government, saying the policies and programmes incorporating the government’s works for the next one year have encompassed the maximum topics related to the basic needs of the people.

Expressing his strong support to the policies and programmes, the NCP chairman urged the lawmakers to vote in its favour.

“Compared to the last fiscal year’s policies and programmes, the present policies and programmes document has come in a systematic manner. Attempts have been made to try and address, to the maximum extent, the people’s desire and aspirations through it. I want to extend my thanks to the government,” he said.

Stating he has the feeling that the policies and programmes has come in a new level qualitative manner compared to the last year’s policies and programmes, Chairman Dahal lauded the opposition party for giving the debate on it a new stature by putting their views in writing with preparation as compared to the last year.

He stated that the government was committed to completing the remaining works of the peace process.

“The ruling side and the opposition are committed to take the remaining works of the peace process to a conclusion. The task of formulating the Act has been forwarded reflecting the letter and spirit of the constitution. The constitution has envisaged a new structure. The work of establishing a new mechanism has been moved ahead as conceived in the constitution,” the ruling party Chair said.

He said: “We, all the political forces, do not have the liberty to negate one another, going out of our limitations, in the name of ruling side and opposition at present.”
