A local youth living and working in a foreign land has supported a community school of his homeland.
A permanent resident of Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan City, Surya Gurung who is currently living in the United Kingdom has assisted Rs 600,000 to Machhapuchchhre based Barah Secondary School.
According to Gurung, he supported the amount to the school aimed at reforming the quality of education in the school. The family of donor Gurung handed over the check amounting Rs 600,000 to the school headmaster Nar Bahadur Gurung today.
Three hundred and fifty students are pursuing an education in the school.
Earlier, the donor Gurung had supported Jan Jagriti Secondary School, of Gorkha, Bam Bahadur Ghale Primary School of Kaski and Annapurna Secondary School of Kaski.
He also had provided financial assistance to construct the compound wall of Pokhara Stadium which was damaged in the quake.
A total of around five million rupees has been provided by him in various social services.
