Gopal Shrestha, a HIV-infected mountaineer , who successfully climbed Mt Everest on May 22 this year, has been honoured in his hometown Pokhara today.
The resident of Pokhara Metropolis-7 in Kaski district, became the first HIV-infected person in the country to scale the world’s highest mountain. He was honoured by the mayor of Pokhara Municipality Man Bahadur GC with a shawl and a token of love.
Mayor GC thanked Shrestha for enhancing the pride of Pokhara. He also expressed his gratitude to former national football player for unfurling the Pokhara metropolis flag on the top of Mt Everest
