Kathleen Dawn “Kat” West, 42, reportedly died of blunt force after being hit on the head with a bottle of absinthe at the couple’s home in Alabama, AL.com reported, citing an arrest warrant.
Her body, naked apart from a sports bra, was reportedly found across the street by a 19-year-old neighbour at 5am on the morning of January 13.
Al.com reports how a mobile phone with a green bottle balanced on top of it was discovered nearby, which witnesses said appeared staged.
On Thursday, her husband William “Jeff” West, 44, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder amid speculation over the couple’s alleged drunken row.
The couple from the small town of Calera were said to be celebrating a “date night” and bought bottles of Lucid absinthe and Jameson Irish Whiskey from R&R Wine and Liquor store at around 9pm on January 12.
