Nepal Police Inspector General of Police, Sarbendra Khanal, has said the control of crime and guarantee of people’s security was the first and foremost responsibility of police.
Inaugurating the civic-friendly closed-circuit television (CCTV) security system at an assembly hall of Bara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) at Kalaiya, Bara today, he said the Nepal police was working round-the-clock for the safety (physical and property) of the people.
He pledged to make no compromise to bring perpetrators /criminals to book, highlighting an equally importance role of civic to control crime in the society. In his views, criminals have no caste and religion and they should not be protected by anyone.
Also addressing the programme, BCCI president Binod Saha said for the first time, in the year 2072 BS, five CC cameras had been installed in major locations of the town, bearing in mind the security sensitiveness in the district. So far, their number has reached 32 and target is for 62.
Bara’s Chief District Officer Bijay Narayan Manandhar expressed his hope that installation of CC cameras inside the town area would help control crimes.
