The Indian side has admitted its mistake in constructing a bridge over Mahakali River without taking consent from Nepal.
At a border security meeting held in Pithauragarh of India, the Indian officials admitted their mistake for the bridge construction in the bordering river.
The makeshift wooden bridge over Mahakali River would come into operation only after Nepal government’s permission. The meeting has concluded to resume the peoples’ mobility only after the permission from both the governments.
The Indian side has constructed four wooden bridges in four places of Vyas-2 in Darchula of Nepal.
Another agreement of today’s meeting was opening the track built in the Nepali soil only after getting permission from the central government.
The Indian side has constructed four bridges in Dopakhe, Najung River, Lakhanpur and Kauthala of Vyas-2. Likewise, the Indian side has constructed three and a half kilometres road in Nepali soil.
Present at the meeting, Deputy Superintendent of Police Janak Bahadur Shahi said that agreement has been made to form a technicians’ team in regard to the management of landslides taking place from Khotila of India.
Chief District Officer of Darchula Janardan Gautam said that the issues of smuggling of forest produces and wildlife and control of such issues were also discussed.
