Chief Minister of State-1 government Sherdhan Rai has said an IT Park would be set up in the state to make it excel in the information technology sector.
Inaugurating the two-day Start-up and Innovation IT Fair organised by ICT Media here today, he said huge opportunities would be created in the health, education, tourism and employment sectors by using the IT, besides maintaining good governance in the state.
Urging the private sector to cooperate with the state government to host the multinational information technology summit, he said the event would help in the rapid development of the state and bring prosperity here.
According to him, works to prepare a periodic plan of the state have neared the final phase and the government policy and budget has laid an emphasis on the utilization of IT. Works to transform the state into a ‘digital state’ will commence from the upcoming fiscal year.
The chief minister further added that the upcoming budget would give priority to the job creations and productive sectors, and the IT would be incorporated in the education right from the school level and none would be compelled to go abroad in search of jobs by the next 10 years.
The objective of the fair is to promote ‘startup’ and entrepreneurship at the local level. The fair exhibits 50 stalls related to IT and avails the practical knowledge on various topics.
