Joshua Buatsi crushes Jordan Joseph

Feb 4, 2018

Joshua Buatsi sent out an explosive statement in the light-heavyweight division by destroying Jordan Joseph inside two rounds at The O2 on Saturday night.

The Croydon 24-year-old was in imperious form and put on an eye-catching show as he destructively became the first man to stop his outclassed opponent, notching up his fourth win in the professional format.

The 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medallist came out the blocks firing and hammered away at will with punishing heavy blows in an entirely one-sided opening period.

It was a mature and effortless showing from Buatsi and a timely reminder of his vicious punch power and star potential.

The classy work and smooth combinations continued into the second before an inevitable huge right hand sent Joseph wobbling backwards.

Buatsi pounced on his badly dazed opponent before the referee mercifully jumped in to end proceedings.

“It’s the crowd here, I have a nervous energy and just love to entertain,” Buatsi said afterwards.

“Everyone was entertained. It’s been a long time, I had a great camp and sparring. I got in there and done the business.

“I want to keep progressing and improving. There’s a lot more for me to learn, I’ll be diligent in what I do from here.”
