KMC provides Rs 2.5 million to five women journalists scaling Mt. Everest



Kathmandu, April 17

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has provided Rs 2.5 million to the team of journalist women that is scaling Mt. Everest.

Handing over the amount to the team members, KMC Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya expressed the belief that the scaling Mt. Everest by journalists would contribute to the public event of the KMC.

On the occasion, Chief Administrative Officer of KMC, Yadav Prasad Koirala, said that tourism potentials can be sought from own’s strength.

Rojita Budhcharya (Nepal Television), Kalpana Maharjan (Megha Television), Rosha Basnet (Tastriya Samachar Samiti), Priya Laxmi Karki (News 24 Television) and freelance journalist Deurali Chamling Rai are in the team. The team is heading towards Lukla on Wednesday for the same.
They are scaling the Mt. Everest with the slogan ‘Unified Voice for Equality.’
