The Korea International Cooperation Agency’s (KOICA) President Lee Mikyung has paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the Office of the President Sheetal Niwas, in Kathmandu on Tuesday. South Korean Ambassador Park Young-sik as well as other high level official from KOICA Headquarter and Nepal Office were included in the delegation led by President Lee.
The meeting discussed on possible collaboration between the government of Nepal and Korea in gender mainstreaming programmes in Nepal. The programme could lead to women empowerment mainly focused on providing quality education and economic opportunities to Nepalese women.
President Bhandari also thanked Korean government for standing as a good friend of Nepal since a long time. She especially mentioned about the Employment Permit System(EPS) that offers employment opportunities to youth of Nepal as well as implementing other development activities in Nepal. In reference to this Korean delegation team also shared to support in capacity development of the Korea returnee workers.
