A person has died after a truck was buried by a landslide triggered by incessant rains at Rorang rural municipality-10, Tigharan Khani along the Prithvi Highway in Dhading district.
Four trucks have been buried by the landslides, said District Police Office, Dhading.
According to Pradesh Traffic Police Office, Ramnagar, only one out of four trucks buried by the landslides has been identified as Na 8 Kha 4540. The deceased was travelling in the same truck. His identity is yet to be ascertained, said police.
The vehicles en-route to Kathmandu from East and West have been stranded at Narayangadh and those from Kathmandu have been stuck at Muglin due to road obstructions since Thursday. There has been a long traffic of cargo trucks and passenger buses.
Due to the incessant rains, the work in regard to the removal of debris has been hit. Landslides have occurred in seven different places from Narayangadh to Kathmandu, said DPO, Dhading.
Big landslides have occurred at Satrakilo, Panchkilo, Charkilo and Jalbire of Ichchhakamana rural municipality-5, Chitwan, and at Setodobhan of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29.
Similarly, landslides have also occurred at Setipool of Gajuri rural municipality and Benighat Rorang rural municipality along the Prithvi Highway.
