Various political leaders visited Norvic International Hospital today paid tributes to noted human rights activist and leftist intellectual Padma Ratna Tuladhar who passed away today in course of treatment. Communist Party of Nepal (CPN)’s leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal was among those leaders reaching the hospital to pour tribute to the former minister.
Talking to media-persons on the occasion of the sad moment, leader Nepal said Tuladhar had significant contributions to the restoration of democracy, safeguarding of human rights and to the Nepal’s peace process. “His role in achieving the national recognistoin for the Nepal Sambat calendar is unforgettable.”
Similarly, Naya Shakti Party’s coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai who reached the hospital along with spouse leader Hisila Yami termed Tuladhar the pillar of democratic movements in the county. “He was a respectable, an idol for all and a dedicated personality”.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giri Raj Mani Pokharel was also there to pay tribute to the late rights activist.
Tuladhar, who died at the age of 78, is survived by his spouse, two daughters and two sons.
