A two grader boy was killed in a leopard attack in Tanahun on Sunday evening. Tanahun District Police Office shared that the eight-year-old Pujan Sinjali Magar of Anbukhairani Rural Municipality-1 was killed.
The boy was attacked by the leopard on his way back home from his maternal uncle’s house near his village. Sinjali Magar was a grade two student at Suryodaya Basic School in the same ward. Police said that his body was recovered some 200 metres away from the home when a search was conducted after the boy did not appear at home for long time.
So far according to Chief of Division Forest Office Kedar Baral, seven kids have lost their lives from leopard attack in the district. Meanwhile, Thagiya Tharuni, 76, from Ratnanagar Municipality died after being stung by the forest bees on Sunday afternoon.
Tharuni, who was sitting at her home, was seriously hurt when a ball of bees stung her. She was rushed to the Chitwan Medical College based in Bharatpur but died while receiving the treatment, the police shared.
