Nawalparasi, May 13
An agitation by meter readers working for the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Distribution Centre in Kawasoti has hindered official work of collecting meter data.
The meter reading process was disrupted after meter readers recruited on daily – wage basis agitated demanding permanent status.
20 wage earners working under the Kawasoti Distribution Centre are agitating with the demand for permanent status.
The office has been compelled to recruit workers on daily wage basis as it doesn’t have enough employees even though there is an official status for 105 employees, according to engineer Binod Sapkota.
NEA Kawasoti Distribution Centre has issued a notice for the customers to note the meter number of the Nepali month of Baisakh and contact the office’s payment counter to make payment.
