Revenue Leakage (Investigation and Control) First Amendment Bill-2075 BS discussed and passed by the House of Representatives by the meeting of the National Assembly on Thursday.
Responding to queries raised in the meeting, Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada said that the bill has a provision to slap high and low fine to those depending on the extent of revenue leakage by them, considering two principles that increment in fine alone cannot control the leakage or there lacks action against those behind the leakage.
Minister Dr Khatiwada also shared that the bill also provisions to end irregularities committed in the name of informers on revenue leakage.The proposal to seek a consideration on the bill received from the HoR alongside a message was also passed unanimously from the meeting.
The proposal was tabled by Finance Minister Khatiwada. Those wanting an amendment to the bill can submit a proposal to the Parliament Secretariat within the deadline. The National Assembly next meeting is scheduled on December 30 at 1 pm.
