NA’s Rimal wins Safal Pokhara International Marathon

Nepali Army’s Hari Kumar Rimal has won the title of 13th season of Safal Pokhara International Marathon.

The event organised by the Ex- Sportsperson Forum Nepal, he completed the race clocking 2 hours 40 minutes and10 seconds. With the victory, he received a cash prize of Rs 100 thousand.

The race commenced from the Pokhara Stadium and concluded upon reaching the same point. Similarly, Armed Police Force (APF)’s Khim Bahadur Khatri finished the race at 2 hours 40 minutes 20 seconds, becoming the first-runner up. He received a cash prize of Rs 70,000.

Bhumiraj Rai of Nepal Police came out the second runner-up and bagged a cash prize of Rs 50,000. He completed the race at 2 hrs 41 minutes. NA’s Purna Tamang was awarded a cash prize of Rs 7,000 as the consolation prize.

Gandaki province social development minister Naradevi Pun, main sponsor Laxmi Group’s chair Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha and State Assembly member Krishna Thapa gave away awards to the winners.

The event was inaugurated by Gandaki province chief minister Prithvi Subba Gurung.

Competitions on other eight events including 10-kilometer women and men race, five-kilometer girls and boys race, and race for disabled were held.
