Nepali Congress (NC) Mahasamiti Member Lalan Kumar Raya was killed on Tuesday in a road accident that took place at Tuteshwor Chowk in Bardibas Municipality-5, Mahottari district.
The 58-year-old NC leader was critically injured after a sugarcane-laden stationary truck (Na 4 Kha 5813) was hit by a bus (Na 5 Kha 6411) en route to Kathmandu at 5:00 am shared by the Superintendent of Police Shyam Krishna Adhikari.
Raya was rushed to Janakpur for the treatment after the incident but was referred to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar where the doctors pronounced Raya as dead at 9:00 this morning, Raya’s relative Asim Dube said.
In the mishap, 18 other NC cadres and general public were injured and receiving treatment at different hospitals in Bardibas.
