Nepal has confirmed 314 fresh cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the addition of the cases, total cases in Nepal have reached 3,762.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Spokesperson Dr. Jasheswar Gautam said that among the newly-infected are 294 males and 20 females.
The new infections have been found in Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Saptari, Janakpur, Syangja, Kaski, Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Dailekh, Surkhet, Argakhachi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparsi, Palpa, Pyuthan, Rupandehi, Sarlahi, Mahottari.
According to Spokesperson Dr. Gautam, 16 people tested positive in tests at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Biratnagar. Among them are six men aged 18 to 41 years from Gauriganj Rural Municipality in Jhapa, one 19-year-old man from Koshi Rural Municipality of Sunsari and nine men and women aged 12 to 36 from Morang.
Similarly, tests at the laboratory of Koshi Hospital found three men aged 18 to 31 from Jhapa, one 23-year-old man from Panchthar, six women from Saptari’s Rajbiraj aged 14 to 34 years to have been infected.
A total of 16 people tested positive in tests at the laboratory of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
Likewise, 15 people tested positive tests at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Pokhara. They are men between the ages of 16 and 25.
Similarly, in the laboratory test of Narayani Hospital, eight people in a quarantine of Parsa, seven people from Bara and eight from Rautahat tested positive.
Similarly, tests conducted in the laboratory of the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences have confirmed the infection in four people in Dang district.
Likewise, a man from Janaki Rural Municipality of Banke and 18 others from Bardiya tested positive at Bheri Hospital.
A total of 10 men from Dailekh, five from Salyan and one from Surkhet have been tested positive at Surkhet Hospital and Avian Disease Investigation Laboratory.
Similarly, tests conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Rupandehi have confirmed infection in 65 people. They are three people from Arghakhanchi, a 32-year-old woman from Lumbini Medical College, 17 from Kapilvastu, two from Nawalparasi and one man from Lumbini Medical College and eight from Pyuthan and five from Rupandehi.
According to the test conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, the infection has been confirmed in seven men from Kapilvastu, 12 men from Mahottari’s quarantine and seven people from Rautahat and 106 people from Sarlahi.
The virus has now spread in 71 out of 77 districts.
Meanwhile, 21 COVID-19 patients including one female and 20 males from have been discharged from hospitals after recovery. A total of 488 COVID-19 patients have been discharged so far.
A total of 14 people have died from coronavirus in Nepal so far.
In the last 24 hours, 4,766 samples have been tested through PCR, said Spokesperson Dr. Gautam.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 257,962 samples have been tested for coronavirus in Nepal so far. Of these, 1,00971 samples were tested through the PCR and 156,991 through the RDT.
At present, 3,260 people are in isolation and 166,668 are in quarantines across the country.
