An elderly who passed away in the course of treatment at National Medical College, Birgunj has been diagnosed with the Coronavirus, taking the death tally to four in Nepal.
A 70-year-old person was diagnosed with novel virus after his report came out to be positive eight days after his death. He has been identified as the resident of Kalaiya Sub Metropolitan City-7.
He had died on May 17. He had been admitted to the hospital on May 15 after he complained of respiratory problems.
His swab specimen reporst tested at National Public Health Laboratory, Kathmandu came out to be positive, confirmed Assistant Chief District Officer of Parsa Lalit Kumar Basnet.
In a height of negligence, the dead body of the elderly had been handed over to the family.
Accepting the fact, Assistant CDO said an investigation into the case has been initiated.
