Nepal defeats China by 5 runs

Nepal defeated China by 5 runs to register its fourth win in the Asian qualifying of the ICC women’s world cup cricket tournament.

In the match held today at the Terdthai cricket ground in Bangkok, Thailand, Nepal posted a total of 77 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Nepal was put to bat first after losing the loss.

Nepal’s Kajol Shrestha top-scored with 18 runs followed by Sita Ranamagar with 11 and Bindu Rawal with 10 runs.

For China, Wang Meng and Han Lili took two wickets each.

In reply, China could make only 72 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Jhan Mei of China top-scored with 33 runs followed by Siyon Jhaule with 18 runs.

For Nepal, Sita Ranamagar took 3 wickets while Krishna Kunwar took 1 wicket.

With the win, Nepal has collected a total of 8 points to stand in the third position. Nepal will now play against Kuwait on Wednesday.
