Nepal donates 100,000 masks to Corona Virus affected China

The government of Nepal on Friday donated 100,000 units of protective masks to the Chinese government. China recently is fighting to keep its residents protected from the outbreak of novel corona virus infection.

As hundreds have died in China from the infection that originated in Wuhan of Hubei in the country, Nepal donated the masks “as a gesture of friendship and solidarity with China’s fight,” informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal handed over the masks to Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanqi at a function organised at the MoFA on Friday, informs the ministry.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Yanqi thanked to Nepal Government and others provided concern and support to fight against the epidemic of corona virus.

A high-level meeting of the Nepal government on Thursday decided to dispatch one lakh protective masks to China.

As of Thursday, 636 people have died mostly in Hubei province and its provincial capital Wuhan due to the virus with the total number of confirmed cases jumping to 3,143, Chinese officials announced on Friday.
