Nepal has established diplomatic relations with Benin. With this, the number of countries with which Nepal has diplomatic relations has reached 157.
Benin is a French-speaking West African nation.
Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, Durga Prasad Bhattarai and his counterpart from Benin, Mr. Jean-Claude F. do Rego, signed on a joint document on the establishment of diplomatic relations on behalf their respective countries on Wednesday, the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN in New York stated.
In the signing ceremony held at the Nepali Mission, the ambassadors of both countries expressed the commitment to expanding the mutual relations as well as collaborating in the United Nations and other multilateral forums.
