The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 911,747 as of Saturday afternoon.
The ministry said 295 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 5,225 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 260 returned positive. Likewise, 3,018 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 35 tested positive.
Of total tests, 4.97 percent of the PCR and 1.15 percent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 3.57 percent.
As of today, there are 7,278 active cases across the country. Of them, 526 are hospitalized, 193 in intensive care units, and 57 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 478 people have achieved recovery whereas two deaths were been reported.
Of the total cases so far, 797,926 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,471 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 percent and the death rate is 1.4 percent.
Meanwhile, 34,716 people were vaccinated today.
