Nepal records 372 new Covid-19 cases, 911 recoveries, 11 fatalities in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 906,697 as of Saturday afternoon. The ministry said 372 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,316 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 297 returned positive. Likewise, 2,595 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 75 tested positive.

Of total tests, 5.58 per cent of the PCR and 2.89 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 4.7 per cent.

As of today, there are 9,526 active cases across the country. Of them, 780 are hospitalised, 234 in intensive care units and 68 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 911 people have achieved recovery whereas 11 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 791,269 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,399 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 173,059 people were vaccinated today.
