Nepal records 391 new Covid-19 cases, 680 recoveries, 6 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 898,399 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 391 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,966 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 385 returned positive. Likewise, 1,111 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional six tested positive.

Of total tests, 5.52 per cent of the PCR and 0.54 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 4.84 per cent.

As of today, there are 12,297 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,019 are hospitalised, 299 in intensive care units and 98 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 680 people have achieved recovery whereas six deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 781,456 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,284 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.07 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.
