Nepal reports 2,071 new Covid-19 cases, tally reaches 1,07,755

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 107,755 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,071 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,416 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 12,427 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 176,984 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 31,315 cases are active currently. Among them, 17,666 are in home isolation, and 13,649 are hospitalised. Likewise, 329 are in intensive care units, and 76 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 75,804 people have achieved recovery whereas 636 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,552 people have been discharged whereas 22 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 70.3 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, Rupandehi, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases each. Manang and Mustang do not have any active cases.

Over 4,600 people are quarantined across the country.
