A total of 451 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Nepal in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population stated.
Speaking at a regular press briefing on Monday, Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that the country’s tally has reached 6,211 with the fresh cases.
Among them, 416 are males and 35 are females, he said.
A test conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Biratnagar confirmed the infection in a woman from Morang and test at Narayani Hospital Laboratory in Birgunj confirmed infection in a woman and nine men from Parsa and nine men from Rautahat.
Similarly, a test conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Pokhara has confirmed the infection in five men from Tanahun.
Three men from Achham, one woman and one man from Kailali, one woman and three men from Doti have been diagnosed with the infection at the laboratory of Seti Provincial Hospital.
A laboratory test at Bheri Hospital confirmed the infection in five men from Banke, two women and 14 men from Bardiya and two women and one man from Pyuthan.
A test conducted at Karnali Institute of Health Sciences confirmed the infection in one woman and four men from Dailekh, while a test conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Janakpur confirmed the infection in 20 men from Mahottari and four men from Dhanusha.
Tests at the Bharatpur Hospital laboratory confirmed coronavirus infection in two women and one man in Nuwakot, three men in Arghakhanchi and one woman in Chitwan.
Likewise, tests conducted at the Provincial Hospital, Rupandehi, confirmed corona infection in two men from Gulmi and five men from Rupandehi.
A laboratory test at Koshi Hospital confirmed the infection in a woman and two men in Sunsari, two women and 19 men in Morang and a man in Jhapa.
Similarly, tests conducted at the laboratory of the Provincial Hospital, Surkhet, confirmed the infection in three women and 85 men from Dailekh and one woman and 18 men in Surkhet.
A laboratory test conducted at Dhulikhel Hospital confirmed the infection in four men from Rolpa and a man from Kathmandu, while a test conducted at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences in Dang confirmed the infection in seven women and 36 men.
Similarly, a test conducted at the TU Teaching Hospital confirmed infection in one man from Kailali and a test conducted at the Agricultural Disease Research and Training Center, Hetauda, confirmed the infection in two women and 23 men in Rautahat.
Laboratory tests at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Diseases Hospital have confirmed infection in nine men from Dhading and one from Kathmandu.
Similarly, a woman from Lalitpur and two women from Kathmandu have been diagnosed with the infection in a laboratory test conducted at Patan Hospital.
In the test conducted at National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, 7 men from Bara, 7 men from Gulmi, one man from Kapilvastu, 10 men from Mahottari, 10 men from Palpa, two women and 74 men from Rautahat, two women and 5 men from Rupandehi, 23 men from Sarlahi and 4 men from Siraha were confirmed to be infected.
In the last 24 hours, 5,306 samples have been tested through PCR, said Spokesperson Dr. Gautam.
According to him, 358,019 samples have been tested for coronavirus in Nepal so far. Of these, 138,683samples were tested through the PCR and 219,336 through the RDT.
Meanwhile, a total of 67 people were discharged after recovery in the last 24 hours, he said. With this 1,041 have been discharged across the country so far.
At present, 5,151 people are in isolation and 133,829 are in quarantines across the country.
Nepal has not reported any death in the past 24 hours. Nepal’s death tally stands at 19.
