Nepal’s coronavirus tally jumps to 1,798 with highest-single day spike

Nepal has reported 226 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

With this, the national tally stands at 1,798, the Ministry of Health and Population stated on Monday. It is the highest number of cases the country has witnessed in a single day so far.

Among the infected, 213 are male and 13 female, according to Dr. Bikash Devkota, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population.

Similarly, one person has discharged today after recovery taking the tally to 221.

Among them, 178 are males and 48 females.

Likewise, 1,569 are in isolation across the country, he said.

A total of 138 people are in isolation in Province 1, 589 in Province 2, 15 in Bagmati Province, 23 in Gandaki Province, 570 in Province 5, 197 in Karnali Province and 37 in Sudurpaschim Province.
