The country recorded 22 new coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 636, the Ministry of Health and Population stated.
Kathmandu Valley recorded five coronavirus-related deaths.
According to the Ministry, 17 men and five women have died of the pandemic.
A 62-year-old female and a 65-year-old male succumbed to the virus in Sunsari.
Likewise, a 61-year-old female in Dhankuta, 38-year-old male in Sarlahi, 66-year-old female, and four males aged 60, 70, 75, and 83 in Kathmandu died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
Similarly, a 49-year-old male from Lalitpur, and two males aged 44 and 57 succumbed to coronavirus in Bhaktapur.
Likewise, a 77-year-old male died of coronavirus in Nuwakot. A 75-year-old female, two males aged 47 and 98, and another male (age not confirmed) succumbed to the coronavirus in Chitwan.
Likewise, a woman, 85, died of the virus in Makwanpur district, and a 63-year-old male from Sindhupalchowk died of the virus.
Similarly, three males — aged 60, 61 and 84 — from Rupandehi succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
Meanwhile, Nepal has recorded as many as 2,071 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry, with the recent data, the total number of cases reached 1,07,755 in the country as of Sunday afternoon.
Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that altogether 12,427 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.
According to Dr. Gautam, 1,552 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 75,804 in the country.
Nepal’s recovery rate stands at 70.3 percent, he added.
Nepal currently has 31,315 active cases, he said.
Dr. Gautam stated that a total of 13,649 people are in institutional isolation and 17,666 others are in home isolation facilities.
Likewise, 4,613 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.
Similarly, he said that 329 infected ones are receiving treatment in ICU beds and 76 others are on ventilators across the country.
