Nepal’s COVID-19 tally reaches 51 as Birgunj reports 2 new cases

Birgunj has reported two new COVID-19 cases on Sunday. With the addition of the cases, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 51.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the newly infected persons are men aged around 50 years and are deployed as cleanliness workers for Birgunj Metropolis.

Their swab samples were tested at the Kathmandu-based National Public Health Laboratory.

Joint Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari said that one has been already taken to Narayani Hospital and preparations were underway to take another to the hospital from quarantine.

Both are in normal health conditions, Dr. Adhikari said in a statement.

A total of 12 persons have been discharged across Nepal so far.
