Government’s new education policy presented by Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokhrel at the education ministry in Kathmandy today.
The 80-page-long dossier public months after a government-formed committee submitted its recommendations for the new policy to make.
The new policy, however, does not incorporate key recommendations of the committee, which called for the transformation of private schools into trusts.
The new education policy says that the government shall only regulate private schools. Minister Pokhrel also said that the document was one of consensus and admitted that not all recommendations made by the committee were incorporated.
