Nepal Olympic Committee organized the 2nd National Sports Forum in the Olympic Building on May 25, 2019. In the program two representatives of all the National Associations affiliated to NOC, all the NOC Board members and NOC Commission Members were invited.
In the first session, Deputy Secretary General Mr. Rajiv Shrestha welcomed all the guests and thanked for the participation. The Chief Guest, the Member of Parliament, Education & Health Committee’s President Honorable Jaypuri Gharti thanked the organizing committee for organizing such useful program and said that she was also an athlete from her childhood.
Honorary President of NOC Mr. Dhurba Bahadur Pradhan spoke about the importance of better relationship between NOC and the Nepal Sports Council for the benefit of the athletes. President of NOC/ Member of Parliament Honorable Jeevan Ram Shrestha also stated that the National Sports Forum would give useful knowledge to the representatives of different associations.
In the Second Session, different experts spoke about different topics in different themes. Each Speaker got limited time to talk about their theme and an interaction time was also allotted.
The major themes of presentation and discussion were:
Sports Act in Nepal by Mr.Krishna Peasad Devkota, Seceetary of Youth & Sports.
Strategic Planning of Sports Organization by Mr Rabi Rajkarnikar, National Olympic Academy of Nepal.
Sports & Media by Mr.Devendra Subedi, President, National Sports Journalist Forum.
Preparation for Upcoming Games [13th SAG and Tokyo 2020 Olympic] by Mr.Keshab Kumar Bista, Member Secretary, National Sports Council.
Sexual Harassment in Sports by Ms. Binita Adhikari.
Doping in Sports by Dr. Saroj Krishna Shrestha Chairman of Medical Commission(NOC).
Sports Act by Honorable Jeevan Ram Shrestha.
Vote of thanks and the Declaration of the Program by Mr. Dhirendra Kumar Pradhan, Vice President of NOC.
The programme was concluded by the President of NOC Hon. Shrestha, presented a small token of love to all the presenters.
