NRA, CEO Mr. Yuvraj Bhusal, Handed Over 282 completed Houses in Nuwakot District

Mukti Suvedi Country Representative of World Renew an International Non-Governmental Organization worked inaudibly with his team and built 282 houses in Manakamana, which is in ward 5 of Kispang rural municipality in Nuwakot, Nuwakot is one of the earthquake affected district and may of the international organization are working, among which World Renew and its implementing partner NGO Nari Jagaran Samaj  in Kispang- 5 (previously known as Manakamana VDC ward 4,6 and 7) become the first to complete the housing project and handed over 282 houses and community center to the communities.  Country Representative Mr. Suvedi said we built a model village as all the communities who had internal and personal conflicts came together and build houses helping one another.

Mr. Suvedi further highlighted that it was such a wonderful experience working with NRA and CLPIU and commended that National Reconstruction Authority’s recovery policy is highly contextualized and Nepal’s soil friendly if all the stakeholders join hands and work together the housing construction will be ended in no time.   Mr. Yuvaraj Bhusal, the Chief Executive Officer of National Reconstruction Authority who was the chief guest and visited the reconstructed villages of Manakamana Ward 6 and 7 along with district stakeholders. While visiting the field CEO of NRA handed over the constructed community building to Purangaw  Chelibeti Agriculture Cooperative, women members of the group were delighted and happy to get the community building and expressed gratitude to World Renew, NRA and Steadfast.

Handing over 282 completed houses in a Shelter Construction Closing Program, NRA, CEO Mr. Yuvaraj Bhusal, said that it is a milestone and NRA is moving ahead and forward with finishing shelter construction as soon as possible. He added and highlighted many challenges and pointed that to overcome those challenges, NRA is hiring 1100 engineers who are undergoing with training and will be deployed to villages to support the communities to expedite the construction process. He added that reconstruction and recovery is a long-term process and we need support from every concerned stakeholder, without joining hands together we may not achieve what we wanted.

The shelter hand over the program was completed on 30th November 2017 at Bidur, Nuwakot in the presence of guests from NRA Yam Lal Bhusal, District Coordination Committee Chairperson  Mr. Shantaman  Tamang, CLPIU Chief Mr. Parichit Kadaria, DUDBC-DLPIU Chief Er. Bidur Khadka, Acting Chief of NRA Nuwakot Mr. Bed Prasad Gaudel, Chairperson of Kispang  Rural Municipality Mr. Chattra Bhadur Lama.

Moreover, the Country Representative of World Renew Mr. Suvedi informed that World Renew began owner driven housing construction in April 2016 after signing a tripartite agreement with NRA and DUDBC. He shared that motivating owner for building their house took some time and once everybody came together in 35 batches they received training on Mason, carpentering which builds their capacity. This was the beginning to build houses, community choose 5 models based on materials of houses to build and completed on the project time frame.

The spokesperson of National Reconstruction Authority Mr. Yam Lal Bhusal expressed the gratitude and happiness for completing the reconstruction work. He reported that this is the first event we are doing the closing ceremony of Reconstruction. So he said that NRA has been doing reconstruction work until today now the time has come for wrapping off the private housing Reconstruction which has begun. He commended that rural village of Manakamana construction work has become a model for whole Nuwakot by completing shelter construction in the midst of slow reconstruction progress in Nepal
