United Network of Young Peace builders (UNOY Peace builders) organised a 5-days regional capacity development program cum strategic meeting in collaboration with UNFPA Asia Pacific and Swedish International Development Agency in Nepal for its member organizations in Asia.
The objective of the program is to foster a comprehensive approach to organizational development by developing competencies across the entire project cycle: from fundraising to project design, implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning and Organizational Culture.
This training is the second phase of a 6-month long Organisational Development program. Its objective is to impart the skills related to fundraising, project management, monitoring and evaluation, human resource management, advocacy, knowledge management and organizational policies and culture.
The training was started from 15 July to 30 December 2019 and in person training started from 19 November- 23 November, 2019 where 18 representatives from 10 member organisations from 6 Asian countries including Pakistan , Afganisthan , Srilanka, India , Bangladesh and Nepal participated. The training was facilitated by Manik Mia from and Romeral Ortiz Quintilla from Spain
From Nepal; Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal (JCYCN) and Youth Network for Peace and Development Mahottari (YNPD) had a participants. Mr. Tilottam Paudel, President of JCYCN and International Steering Group Member of UNOY 2015-2017 and Mr. Prakash Khadka, Executive Director of JCYCN were there on the third day of the training to welcome and encourage the participants for their engagement in Peace building.
Mridul Upadhyay, Asia Coordinator for UNOY Peacebuilders, said that UNOY is a network of more than 110 youth-led peace building organisations in 57 countries all over the world. Its head office is based in Hague (Netherlands) and in Asia, there are 20 organizations in 9 countries.
Haseena Shrestha from JCYCN said that “The training imparted my skills related to fundraising, project management, monitoring and evaluation, human resource management, advocacy, knowledge management and organizational policies and culture”.
