The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has said over 70 per cent beneficiaries of 14 districts severely affected by the 2015 April earthquake have been associated with the private housing reconstruction programme.
According to the latest updates provided by the NRA, the government mechanism formed to carry out post-quake rebuild works, it has so far signed the grant assistance agreement with 610,500 among 667,662 beneficiaries of the 14 districts. Until Monday, 100,236 houses have been rebuilt while 332,321 are under-construction, as stated by NRA Spokesperson Yamlal Bhusal.
Construction of private houses is the priority of NRA and private housing reconstruction programme is expected to achieve a 60 percent progress before monsoon if works go at the same pace.
