The Parliamentary Committee has directed the government to take the initiative to remove human settlements, roads and embankments constructed on the no man’s land zone with India.
A meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives held on Friday took a decision to this effect concluding that these infrastructures created border disputes.
“The government must take the initiative to remove all the human settlements, roads and embankments built illegally along the no man’s land zone as they have created border disputes,” Shashi Shrestha, chairman of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee said.
The lawmakers have also stated that such illegally built infrastructures have led to the inundation on the Nepali side.
