APF’s Kanchhi Maya again wins ‘Pinkathan Half Marathon’ title

Armed Police Force (APF)’s Kanchhi Maya Koju has clinched the title of third season of ‘Pinkathan Half Marathon’. She completed the competitive race held today at 1 hour 21 minutes and 44 second, wining the title.
With her (third straight) victory, she bagged a cash prize of Rs 51,000. She was the winner of two previous seasons.
Likewise, Rajpura Pachhain of Nepal Police finished the race clocking 1 hour 24 minutes and 33 seconds, becoming the first-runner up. She received a cash prize Rs 31,000.
Again, APF’s Pushpa Bhandari finished the race at 1 hour 27 minutes and 30 seconds to secure the third place and bagged a cash prize of Rs 21,000.
Similarly, APF’s Santoshi Shrestha won the title of another event towards 10 kilometers. Chandra Raut came out the second and third position was secured by Saraswoti Kathayat. They bagged Rs 31,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively.
Inspector General of Police, Sarbendra Khanal, Milind Soman, founder of the Pinkathan, and Nepal Olympic Committee deputy secretary general Rajiv Shrestha gave away prizes and medals to the winners.
The Pinkathan initiated by Indian actor Soman as an effort to build a healthy family, a healthy nation and a healthy world with the empowerment of women is very popular in India. It started in Nepal in 2017 and Leisure Port Nepal owns of the responsibility of organizing the event. Some 2,500 women participated in the event, organizing committee managing director Namaraj Joshi said.
