PM addressing House today at 1 pm



KATHMANDU, April 03

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to address a meeting of the House of Representatives which will commence at 1:00 pm today. National Assembly meeting is also scheduled to commence later at 4:00 pm.

The PM is going to address the House before embarking on a state visit to India slated from April 6 to 8.

Spokesperson for the Parliament Secretariat Bharat Raj Gautam told THT Online, “The prime minister would address the Lower House while the Upper House would take a call on two ordinances -Election for the National Assembly Ordinance and Medical Education Ordinance.” He added, “Today’s Parliament meeting will end after dealing with these businesses.”

As per the new rules, the PM will answer lawmakers’ queries in the first and the third weeks of every month. Similarly, the line ministers will have to answer lawmakers’ questions raised during zero and special hours.

The ongoing session of the House is likely to end after three to four meetings before PM’s visit to India.

It has been anticipated that his visit to India would strengthen goodwill between the two countries and open new dynamics in bilateral relations.
