Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has reached Koteshwore to meet CPN-UML Senior Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Deuba was appointed as PM with the support of UML’s Nepal faction. PM Deuba has reached Nepal’s residence to discuss recent political developments.
After the dissolution of the House of Representatives by former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the Nepal faction of the UML along with the Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Center had formed the opposition alliance to counter Oli’s moves.
According to a source, Deuba is exploring alternatives to cooperate with Nepal though he is in opposition.
Cooperation with Nepal is still crucial to PM Deuba as he has to get a vote of confidence in the parliament.
Nepal told the meeting of the opposition alliance held at Koteshwore on his initiation after the Supreme Court (SC) verdict instructing appointment of Deuba as PM on Monday that the alliance was formed for a specific purpose and he will not continue in the alliance after the purpose has been achieved.
